Oneida Public Library

As a special event for children of all ages during Oneida Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, Teresa Wood, who is the creator of History Houses in Rochester, N.Y., has devised an interactive program called “Samantha, an American Girl Suffragette,” set for Wednesday, July 19, at 3:00 p.m.

To help celebrate the Centennial of Women’s Suffrage in New York State, Wood will introduce Samantha and other American Girl and Boy dolls to the Suffragettes’ cause and bring them together at a rally in Central Park in New York City. Wood encourages children to bring their own dolls to share the excitement.

The program, free and open to the public, is made possible by an Action Grant from Humanities New York. For more information, stop by the library or call (315) 363-3050.
