Fifth-year head coach Curt Fitzpatrick announced changes to the Mustangs Football Coaching Staff for the upcoming season, welcoming Patrick Colligan, Timothy Kennedy and Mike Tufaro to the staff for 2017.

Colligan, who will serve as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach, comes to Morrisville State from Kings College where he spent a season with the Monarchs as the outside linebackers coach. Prior to the 2016 season with Kings, he served as the defensive line coach at Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh for the 2015 season. During his time with the Tartans, he coached the USAA Defensive Most Valuable Player, two first team UAA selections and two PAC All-Conference selections.

Prior to his time at Carnegie Mellon, Colligan spent two seasons as the defensive line coach and recruiting/video coordinator at Millikin University in Illinois.

In addition, Colligan also served as an assistant coach at Westminster College from 2009-12, taking on roles as the assistant offensive line coach, tight ends coach, and defensive backs coach across the three-year span.

Kennedy joins the Mustang football coaching staff in 2017 as coach of the wide receivers, while serving as the program’s co-strength and conditioning coordinator.

Kennedy comes to Morrisville State after a stellar four-year career with the University of Mount Union where he was a four-year letterman and three-year starter for the 2015 NCAA Division III National Champions.

Across his career with Purple Raiders, Kennedy was a three-time All-Conference selection as a return specialist, also making appearances on the offensive side of the ball as a wide receiver. He wrapped up his career as the all-time leader at Mount Union in punt returns and punt return yards.

Kennedy played a big role in leading the Purple Raiders to three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Titles, and was part of the program that for the past four years alone, has reached either the final four or championship finals of the NCAA Division III Championship. Mount Union were National Runner-ups in 2013 and 2014 before winning the title in 2015. They also were a national semi-finalist in 2016.

While at Mount Union, Kennedy was involved in the University’s Relay for Life and Be the Match Drives.

Tufaro will serve as the running backs coach and co-strength and conditioning coordinator for the program this season.

Tufaro comes to Morrisville State from Bluefield College, where he spend a season as the running backs coach at his alma mater, after a four-year career with the Rams on the offensive line.

While at Bluefield, Tufaro coached a first team All-Mid South Region selection, who led the conference and institution in rushing.

Prior to working with the running backs, Tufaro also spent a spring with Bluefield as an offensive intern, where he supported the offensive coordinator and assisted with the offensive line.

Tufaro started 33 games for the Rams on the offensive line, making starts at both center and guard, while taking on a leadership role as captain for the young program.

Pre-season will get underway on Friday, August 11.
