On July 25, an enthusiastic crowd of more than people gathered at the Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne to learn about the ways flooding and unpredictable weather patterns impact their lives and agriculture.

Sponsored by Madison Chenango Call to Action, “What’s Weather Got to Do With It: Planning for the Future,” featured a roster of expert panelists.

Adam Burnett, Professor of Geography at Colgate University; John Pumilio, Director of Sustainability at Colgate University; Ken Smith from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County; and Theodore Halpin, Madison County Director of Emergency Management, addressed climate change and local impacts on infrastructure and agriculture.

The panel took questions from the audience and provided ideas on what people can do to create climate resiliency at home.

MC CTA thanks Rogers Center for the use of the facilities. After the presentation, donations were collected in appreciation of the mission of Rogers Center.
