On Aug. 2, 2017, The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested 28-year-old Loren R. Crain, from 31 Salisbury St., Little Falls, on drug possession and trafficking along with weapon related charges.

On July 19, 2017, The New York State Police along with the Little Falls, Herkimer and Ilion Police Departments executed six search warrants upon several residences in Herkimer County’s valley area. These search warrants were the culmination of a year-long investigation into the trafficking of various narcotics and drugs in Herkimer County and the surrounding area.

A search warrant was executed at an apartment on Pleasant Avenue in the Village of Ilion that Crain occupied and utilized for storing and selling cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Crain was charged with the following:

  •  Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree  –   class A-1 Felony
  • Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree  –   class A-2 Felony
  • Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 2nd degree –  class D – Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree – class A – Misdemeanor
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree – class A – Misdemeanor

Crain was arraigned in the Village of Ilion Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail without bail. This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
