To the editor:

The committee for Peterboro Hometown Day would like to thank all our vendors and exhibitors for making the day a successful event. We are grateful to all the local companies and individuals that supported our door prizes to benefit the Smithfield Fire Department.

The Fire Department sold out of their chicken barbeque. It turned out to be a beautiful day despite the weather forecast.

Our thanks to all our local individuals and the CNY Antique Tractor Club for their participation. Thanks to those who “cruised in” with their antique cars and trucks. Thanks to the Peterboro UMC for their delicious pies and ice cream and to all who stayed to enjoy the music by Old Clay Stone.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to visit our community and hope you enjoyed yourself. We hope to see you again. We are working diligently to have even more activities and vendors for next year. Thank you for your support of our event.

Every year the fire department honors someone for their dedication to serving our community. We are proud to announce that our 2017 “Citizen of the Year” recipient is Lisa Bryant. A well-deserved honor. Congratulations, Lisa.

This is truly a community event from the planning to the people working it. We sincerely thank all those who had a role in making the day a success.
