(Oneida 081917) The Oneida Parks & Rec Department is draining the municipal pool today, but not before our four-legged friends got to frolic for a bit. The second annual Puppy Paddle was the place to be for pampered pups who got the last swim of the season before Parks pulls the plug.

The day is a canine-centered event unlike anything else in the area. Sponsored by VCA Oneida Animal Hospital, CNY Puppy Paddle started as a 4H project to help raise money for a dog park in the city.

Oneida Animal Hospital was on hand, along with 4H of Madison County and Oneida Parks and Recreation, announcing Madison County’s new Pet Food Pantry. VCA Oneida supports this initiative for all those pet owners in our county who may not be able to provide their pets with the proper nutrition on a consistent basis.

On-site adoptions, Doggie Bone Bars and Doggie Door Prizes were also available.
