Herkimer County Community College has appointed Daniel Stalteri, Herkimer, to the position of head women’s junior varsity/club softball coach.

Stalteri joined the Herkimer Generals staff as an assistant coach for the varsity softball team in the fall of 2010. Upon the program winning its first national championship in 2013, he was promoted to associate head coach responsible for hitting and outfield coaching.

Stalteri has also served as head varsity softball coach at Herkimer High School since 2011, and was the varsity assistant coach the three previous seasons. He has also coached at the junior varsity and modified levels, and for the Herkimer Girls Softball League U16 and U18 teams. Stalteri served as president of the Herkimer Girls Softball League from 2005 to 2010.

Stalteri is vice president of contract furniture at Hummel’s Office Equipment Company, Mohawk, and is also owner of Kitchen & Interior Concepts. He holds an associate in science degree in Construction Technology from Herkimer College and a bachelor’s of science degree in construction management from Utica College.

The Herkimer Generals junior varsity/club softball team is new this year, and will compete in the New England-West Conference of the National Club Softball Association against teams such as Syracuse University, Niagara University, Rochester University, SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo.
