John Ball, Acting Sheriff

The campaign of Acting Madison County Sheriff John Ball, has received the endorsements of organized labor groups throughout the region.

“It is fitting that these endorsements come at a time when we are preparing to honor the American labor movement and all the contributions generations of workers have made to the well-being of our great Country on Labor Day,” Ball said.

After completing interviewing and specific vetting processes for each group, The Greater Syracuse Labor Council, CSEA – Madison County Local 827 and CSEA – Central Region V all have endorsed Ball as their candidate for Madison County Sheriff in the upcoming November general election.

Ball previously received the endorsement of International Brotherhood of Teamsters – Local 294.

“It is my privilege to endorse John Ball for Madison County Sheriff,” Don Spost, Field Representative for Teamsters Local 294 said. “Over the last four years of working with John, he always has the time to meet with the union and to discuss any problems or proposed policy changes that effected membership, whether it be professionally or personal and no decisions were ever made in haste. I am confident that John Ball will lead the Sheriff’s Office with the utmost confidence, integrity and professionalism; that the members, as well as the citizens of Madison County, deserve and expect.”

Dr. Dennis Nave, President of the Greater Syracuse Labor Council, wrote in his letter of endorsement “I am pleased to offer John our endorsement. We look forward to working with him in the future to advance the cause for all working families in Central New York and beyond.”

“As president of Madison County CSEA Local 827, I have worked with John and know he has an open-door policy with unions to discuss any concerns at work, therefore I’m very pleased CSEA and the Greater Syracuse Labor Council chose to endorse Acting Sheriff Ball,” said Betty Jo Johnson.

“I am honored, proud and humbled to have received the endorsements of our local labor groups, and to work side by side with these folks,” Ball said, acknowledging the endorsements. “Their endorsements to my candidacy for Madison County Sheriff are endorsements of their trust in me, and I will not let them down.

“The people these organizations represent are a critical part of our community, and are the people who make an impact and change lives in our county every day of the year. The general election is Nov. 7, 2017. Keep what works; we hope to see you there.”
