Colgate Teaming Up with Go4theGoal Thursday Night

The Colgate women’s soccer team will be Lacing Up 4 Pediatric Cancer in support of the Go4theGoal Foundation to help kids battling cancer during Thursday night’s game against UMass Lowell. Kickoff from Beyer-Small ’76 Field is set for 5 p.m.

The Raiders will be donning gold shoelaces during the game, and have committed to raising $1,000 for the Go4TheGoal Foundation. All funds raised will benefit local children battling cancer and their families.

“As a program, we feel fortunate to have opportunities to bring awareness to and raise funds for various causes,” said head coach Kathy Brawn. “More importantly, being part of the community and stepping in to assist people in need is the least we can do.

“Go4TheGoal does an incredible job helping kids with cancer achieve their goals. We are honored to be able to help these children. They deserve our best efforts.”

Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer began in the fall of 2011.  Since then, professional, college and youth teams have participated in raising funds and awareness for the No. 1 disease killer of children.  More than 350,000 athletes to date have Laced Up to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer.

Go4theGoal works to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial assistance, granting special wishes, developing unique hospital programs and funding innovative research.  Learn more about Go4theGoal and how you can help to make a difference by visiting Go4theGoal.org.
