Friends of Rogers will again host “Animals of Halloween” the evening of Oct. 21 at Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. Prior to this annual community festival, current Friends of Rogers members are invited to free hayrides from 4 to 5 p.m.

For a duration of about 10 minutes, hay riders will get a unique autumn glimpse of Rogers Center and agricultural views surrounding the property. Hosted by “The Farm Store at Lathrop’s Milk Ranch,” rides are offered to all Friends of Rogers members in appreciation for their support of Rogers Center.

Friends of Rogers members ensure the continuation of programming at Rogers Environmental Education Center and assist in maintaining high standards of environmental education that have been established over the years. Membership contributions help fund community celebrations, educational exhibits, guest presenters, instructional materials, Visitor Center operations, and much more.

Membership includes benefits for two adults at the same address. Benefits are extended to all persons 18 or under who reside with adult members; valid for 12 months from date of enrollment; and tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Friends of Rogers will also hold its annual business meeting Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Visitor Center classroom. All current and prospective members of the organization are invited to attend.

“Support from our members has allowed Friends of Rogers to have another milestone year,” said Simon Solomon, executive director. “In addition to benefits such as free hay rides, Friends of Rogers members have the satisfaction of knowing the vital role they play in ‘Saving Our Neck of the Woods’ at Rogers Center.”

While this program is offered free of charge to current Friends of Rogers members, pre-registration is required by noon Friday, Oct. 20. To pre-register or to become a Friends of Rogers member, call (607) 674-4733 or email development@FriendsofRogers.org.
