To the Editor:

As we gear up for election day, I seem to be getting many one-sided postcards accusing another candidate of not having the experience or expertise needed to perform the position of county clerk successfully.

As an independent voter and citizen of Madison County for a little less than a decade, I find it appalling and a little insulting that a candidate for a bi-partisan position would stoop to spreading misinformation so blatantly.

Considering this, if I am supposed to trust the county clerk to uphold the highest level of confidentiality and respect for our personal data – safeguarding sensitive information and performing their due diligence, then why is it that he and his campaign manager could not have simply looked at his opponent’s election website?

I am obviously not that naïve, but it calls into question the integrity of this candidate and the lengths he will go to secure a vote. Frankly, it’s a little insulting.

It also makes me wonder why he would leave his constituents in Chittenango in the lurch; can he be
trusted to fully commit to the county?

It’s apparent that this candidate cannot hold a candle to his opponent with experience or common courtesy. What’s to stop this candidate from using confidential information to his advantage if elected
into office?

I, for one, do not want to risk finding out.

I’m voting for Ann Jones, the candidate with the right experience.

Kelly Williamson, Canastota
