Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association is ready once again to kick off our Holiday Wish List Drive. Attention friends, supporters, adopters, volunteers, local businesses and Scout Troops in Madison County and beyond! Our animals look forward to Christmas for many reasons, but the main one is the overwhelming excitement of the gift-giving feeling – collecting and delivering these gifts to the animals.

We have a flyer that anyone can pick up in the shelter lobby or it can be sent via mail or e-mail.  WRHA will also post the flyer on our FaceBook page for your convenience. The “Wish List” items that we are looking for include regular or grain free cat and dog food (both canned and dry), toys of all kinds for both the dogs and cats. This food goes towards the shelter animals and our pet food pantry to help those in need.

Other wish list items include bedding and towels of all kinds and sizes, cleaning supplies especially bleach, garbage bags, paper towels, scrubs for the employees to wear (new and used welcome!), paper booties and hair nets, sponges, scrub brushes, small and large squeegees, brooms, dustpans, and mop handles. Office supplies are also needed all the time.

For a full list of supplies, CLICK HERE.

We always welcome fund drives as well – every penny goes to spaying and neutering, veterinary care, medicine, medical supplies and equipment, and operational expenses. This year anyone can donate to the new “Archie’s Fund,” a special medical program designed to help in-shelter animals that need special procedures beyond the normal routine care. All monetary donations can be earmarked for a specific purpose or a general fund collection.

Wanderers’ Rest welcomes Girl and Boy Scout troops, office donation drives from local businesses, Civic Groups from American Legions to Rotary Clubs, Church Groups, children and teens who want to collect for their birthdays instead of gifts, and of course schools. Our Holiday Wish List is ready to start, so give us a call or send an e-mail to Joanne Cronan-Hamoy, Outreach and Humane Education Coordinator at: wrhaprograms@aol.com.  You can also call us at (315) 697-2796 for more information or visit our website at: www.wanderersrest.org.  We thank everyone in advance. Let’s make this the best Christmas Season ever for the animals.
