Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I-New Hartford) issued the following statement on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s REDC awards:
“Of course we are pleased to see some of our tax dollars come back to our region with the hope of stimulating economic development in the area. That said, I believe we need to have a discussion between the Legislature and the governor to discuss better avenues to stimulate growth throughout the state. Programs that create winners and losers are not a win at all. Our entire state is in desperate need of revitalization, something that can only be done with a systemic, top-down overhaul of economic development policy, not by throwing cash to a few favored, pet projects.”
