“The Wild and Wonderful Readers” junior book club will hold its next meeting Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., in the Cazenovia Public Library Story Garden Room. The session will combine book discussion, games, and hands-on creative activities. The group will discuss Sharon Draper’s Out of My Mind. The 2012 novel spent two years on the New York Times bestseller list.

Eleven-year-old Melody is not like most children. She can’t walk. She can’t talk. She can’t write. Melody has cerebral palsy, but she also has a photographic memory and is the smartest kid in her school. Most people dismiss her as mentally challenged because she can’t tell them otherwise. She is determined to find her voice and show the world all that she has to offer.

The junior book club is open to children ages 9 through 12. Books are available at the circulation desk. All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public.
