Congressman Anthony Brindisi

Distinction given to state legislators who support New York agriculture and the Farm Bureau

The New York Farm Bureau has announced Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica has been named to its ‘Circle of Friends’ for 2017.

In a News Release, the Farm Bureau says Brindisi and other legislators who received the honor were chosen for their voting record on important agricultural issues, as well as for other legislative support, including the support of bills among the Farm Bureau’s priorities in 2017, or opposition to issues the group is against.

“Farmers are absolutely vital to the economic well-being of our state.  Agriculture is among the Mohawk Valley and upstate New York’s most important industries, providing quality, wholesome foods for our families, and employment for many state residents.  I will continue working with the Farm Bureau to ensure that future generations can continue to support us with quality products, and support their families economically,” Assemblyman Brindisi said.

In a news release announcing this year’s Circle of Friends honorees, New York State Farm Bureau President David Fisher said: “New York Farm Bureau selected these Senators and Assembly members because of their commitment to the hard-working farm families in New York.  We appreciated their support on a whole host of bills and budget items this year, and we look forward to collaborating with them as a new session is about to begin.  It is imperative that we work together to support local food production and the agricultural economy that benefit all New Yorkers.”
