Jefferson County man arrested on rape charges
On Jan. 17, 2018, Thurman T. Babcock, 22, of Felts Mills, was arrested on nine counts of second-degree rape, a class D felony; and five counts of third-degree rape, a class E felony, following a grand jury indictment in Jefferson County Court.
The arrest is a result of a sex assault investigation conduct by the state Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Watertown.
Babcock is accused of engaging in forcible sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 15 over a period of several years.
Babcock was remanded to Jefferson County Correctional Facility on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond.
