Friends of Rogers will host its eighth annual Spring Frolic fundraising event for Rogers Environmental Education Center from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Magro’s Banquet Hall in Sherburne.

As in recent years, a highlight of the evening will be a “Savory Celebration” featuring a who’s-who of favorite local food venues presenting signature offerings throughout the evening’s festivities. Confirmed participants include:

  • A Moveable Feast by O’Connor’s
  • Bueno Taco
  • Fred’s Inn/Park Place
  • FoJo Beans
  • DCMO BOCES Culinary
  • Good Nature Brewing
  • Hamilton Inn
  • Holy Smoke BBQ
  • Huff Brau
  • Jewett’s Cheese House
  • Old Home Distillers
  • Ye Olde Landmark Tavern

A highlight of this year’s event will be special guests Mark Golden of Golden Artist Colors, a New Berlin-based company that is a long-time supporter of Rogers and of environmental conservation; and the Chenango Bird Club, which began meeting in the Bird Cabin at Rogers when the club was founded in 1983 and has offered presentations for the public ever since.

“We’re proud to offer ‘A Savory Celebration’ again this year,” said Executive Director Simon Solomon. “We’re happy to be back at Magros’ Banquet Hall and, as we start our second 50 years of operation, we welcome all supporters of Rogers to join us for a night they won’t forget.”

Throughout the event, a variety of silent auction selections will offer something for every guest. Traditional favorites, such as pieces from local artisans and regionally crafted spirits, are among the options. Other packages highlight cultural destinations.

‘Jenni & Tom’ will provide live music and H.F. Photo will offer a unique photo experience, complete with opportunities featuring ‘celebrity’ Rogers Center personalities.

Spring Frolic is the primary fundraising event for Friends of Rogers, attracting nearly 200 community supporters. Proceeds raised from the event fund more than 5 percent of the organization’s annual operating budget, allowing Friends of Rogers to continue providing outstanding educational opportunities that excite, inspire and motivate people of all ages to enjoy, understand, appreciate and protect our natural environment.
