The Cazenovia Public Library will welcome back children’s book author Monica Vaughan to the Community Room at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Vaughan will discuss her latest book, Friendroid (2019). She will also share her experiences as a writer and offer advice to possible future writers.

 Friendroid tells the heartwarming story of a 12-year-old loner who becomes friends with a popular classmate, who happens to be an android. 

Monica Meira Vaughan is the daughter of South American parents. She grew up in Spain before moving to London at the age of five. After the age of fifteen, Vaughan spent every summer in Cazenovia with her father, Federico Meira, and her stepmother, KathyAfter graduating from school, she worked in public relations before training to become a primary school teacher. She spent over ten years working with special needs students prior to becoming a full time writer. She is the author of The AbilityMindscape, and Six.
