Create a new SUNY Morrisville ice cream flavor

Gilligan’s Ice Cream loves its fans so much, they are letting them choose a new SUNY Morrisville indulgence through a Mustang Ice Cream Contest.

SUNY Morrisville alumni Andy Lagoe ’92 and Gil Hodges ’92 along with partner Mike Lagoe, owners of Gilligan’s Ice Cream, (www.gilliganssherburne.com), located in Sherburne, devised the contest, which lauds their Mustang pride.

Mustangs are passionate about anything related to their school, right? This is your chance to create an iconic flavor that represents SUNY Morrisville, and to see it on spoons and in nearby stores. Pretty cool, huh?

It gets better. Gilligan’s is developing the new flavor and letting you come up with the ingredients. And a name! Winners get some pretty savory prizes. You guessed it! Two quarts of the winning ice cream is one of them. Plus two $50 gift cards (one at Gilligan’s and one from the Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation) to spend on whatever else you want. Like more ice cream.

The contest is open now through March 29, to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the college and interested community members.

Three finalists will be chosen and their ice cream produced for an on-campus taste test to be voted on by students, faculty, staff and alumni.

How to enter:

Complete the contest form (www.morrisville.edu/icecream), or cast your ballot in person at the following campus locations:

  • Seneca Dining Hall
  • Mustang Alley
  • Smooth Jazzy Joz,
  • Campus Store
  • Norwich Campus Store

What to include:

  • Describe the ice cream flavor you envision and be sure to include any ingredients.
