On April 2, 2019, at 8:15 a.m., investigators at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edward A. Riggall, 50, of Eaton, on charges of third-degree welfare fraud and third-degree grand larceny, both class D felonies.

It is alleged that Riggall, who was collecting public assistance, committed a fraudulent welfare act when he failed to report income to the Madison County Department of Social Services; as a result, he received $3,026 between June 1 and Nov. 30, 2018, for which he was ineligible.

Riggall was arraigned in Lenox Town Court where he was released on his own recognizance.

Riggall is scheduled to appear at court on a later date to answer the charges.
