Operator in town of Madison ATV Crash in serious condition
On April 6, 2019, State Police responded to an ATV personal injury accident on Landers Road in the town of Madison.
The investigation revealed that Tanya J. Millington, 28, of Bouckville, was operating 2012 Can-Am ATV eastbound on Landers Road when her ATV struck a bump in the roadway; this impact caused Millington to be ejected from her ATV and strike her helmet on the dirt roadway.
She was transported by Madison Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and was listed in serious condition.
The investigation continues.
New Hartford woman arrested for DWI following crash in Rome
On Friday, April 5, 2019, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Troopers responded to a personal injury crash at River Road and the State Route 49 off-ramp in Rome.
The investigation revealed that Donna F. Pasquale, 78, of New Hartford, was operating a 2009 Toyota Avalon when she rear-ended a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Shawn C. Wilson of Holland Patent, who was stopped for a school bus that was unloading passengers.
During the investigation, two empty vodka bottles were found in Pasquale’s possession.
Pasquale was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. Both drivers were transported to the hospital for complaints of pain.
Pasquale is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court at 9 a.m. April 30, 2019.
Jefferson County man arrested after fleeing from troopers
On April 5, 2019, at 7:57 p.m., troopers observed a black Ford F-250 pickup truck speeding eastbound on State Route 12E in the village of Chaumont. As troopers attempt to stop the truck, the operator refused to comply and failed to stop.
The operator continued onto Morris Tract Road and then intentionally drove off the road in an attempt to elude patrol. Jefferson County 911 Center continued to receive calls of reckless driving in the same area matching the description of the suspect vehicle, ultimately leading patrols to locate the vehicle abandoned on Cheever Road in Lyme.
On April 6, 2019, Joseph G. Haas, 30, from Chaumont, turned himself into patrols at SP Watertown. Haas was charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer, a class A misdemeanor and several vehicle and traffic violations; he is scheduled to appear in Lyme Town Court at 6:30 p.m. April 15, 2019.
