Students on spring break, 8 to 13 years old, can relive J. K. Rowlings’ novels about Harry Potter at Oneida Public Library in four daily afternoon classes on magical topics, starting Monday, April 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Monday’s class will divide students among Hogwarts’ houses, using a “Sorting Hat.” Then students will devise house regalia and compete in a Transfiguration Class game of charades.

On Tuesday, April 16, at the same time, students will discover their personal “Patronus” through modeling clay, construct dragon eggs and practice spellwork. Wednesday’s curriculum includes brewing slime in Potions Class, caring for mystical plants in Herbology and competing in the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean Challenge. During the last session on Thursday, April 18, students will embark on a scavenger hunt for the Deathly Hallows, act out favorite scenes from the books and conclude the course with the House Cup Ceremony and celebration.

Registration beforehand is required. To register or to get more information, stop by the Oneida Library at 220 Broad St. or call 315-363-3050.
