New York Air National Guard Lt. Col. Michael Adamitis took command of the 174th Mission Support Group during a Change of Command Ceremony held on April 7th at Hancock Field, Syracuse.

In the traditional ceremony, outgoing commander Col.l John O’Connor symbolically passed the Group’s flag to the new commander. O’Connor will be moving on to the Air National Guard Readiness Center.

The 174th Mission Support Group is a part of the 17th Attack Wing which is based at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base.

Adamitis was commissioned in 1994. He previously served as the 174th Deputy Maintenance Group Commander.
