Lebanon officials will sponsor their annual roadside cleanup day for local residents from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27, at the Town Highway Garage in the hamlet.

The public is encouraged to participate.

Each Lebanon resident can bring up to two clear garbage bags of roadside trash and may also bring up to two pieces of furniture for disposal at the Highway Garage, where the Madison County landfill will have two dumpsters available.

Other items Lebanon homeowners and residents may bring for disposal are as follows:

  • Up to four auto or truck tires per household at no cost
  • Propane tanks at $3 each.
  • Air conditioners at $6 each.
  • Refrigerators at $6 each.
  • Freezers at $6 each.
  • Dehumidifiers at $6 each.

Scrap metal should be kept separate from other items and there is no charge to recycle this material.

The event is limit4ed to residents only – no businesses.

No hazardous materials are collected on Cleanup Day.

Televisions and computer monitors will not be taken but can be disposed of for free by Lojo Technology in Oneida.

Town Supervisor Jim Goldstein encourages local residents to schedule cooperative events on this day through their local churches or lake associations or community groups. The town will accept roadside trash from such groups as part of this event.
