On April 17, 2019, at approximately 10:30 p.m., state police in Hastings responded to a possible stabbing at a cabin in the vicinity of 68 Little Pond Road, Amboy.

The investigation has determined a 31-year-old Eric C. Staring was involved in a physical altercation with 30-year-old Shakim E. Graham of Syracuse. Staring was stabbed in the abdomen during the altercation and was transported by Mercy Flight to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he underwent surgery.

Graham was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault, a class B felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Amboy Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Public Safety Building. Bail was set at $7,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
