Senator Rachel May (D-53rd) will join the Madison County Public Utilities Committee for a public meeting at 7 p.m. May 2 at Hamilton Central School Auditorium. The meeting will focus on access to rural broadband in Madison County. It is one in a series of such meetings that Senator May has scheduled for the coming weeks to address concerns relating to broadband access and the digital divide.

“In today’s digital world, the lack of access to reliable high-speed internet services poses distinct challenges for citizens and businesses,” says Senator May. “The problem is especially acute in our rural upstate communities, including areas of Madison County. We want to have as many voices as possible in the dialogue as we work to ensure that our rural communities have the same digital access as those in more populous regions of the state.”

The meeting is open to all. The school is located at 47 West Kendrick Avenue, Hamilton. For more information or questions, contact Senator May’s office at 315.478.8745 or via email at may@nysenate.gov.
