Syracuse man arrested for felony DWI on the Thruway

On May 12, 2019, at approximately 3:28 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in Van Buren for vehicle and traffic violations. After interviewing the driver, Howard Brown, 44, of Syracuse, he was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license.

Brown was arrested and transported to SP Syracuse, where he refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system.

Additionally, Brown has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device. As a result, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class E felony; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a class E felony; operating a motor vehicle with no ignition interlock device, a class A misdemeanor; and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Brown was issued appearance tickets returnable in Van Buren Town Court at 7 p.m. May 22, 2019. He was transported to Onondaga Correctional Facility and lodged for centralized arraignment.
