Three arrested for possession of fentanyl following a search warrant at Utica residence

On June 12, 2019, the state police and Utica Police Department executed a no-knock search warrant at 1901 Baker Ave., Utica. A search of the residence located 29.9 grams of fentanyl, marijuana and a small amount of U.S. Currency.

The following individuals were arrested and transported to Utica City Court for arraignment:

Vennie B. Coleman, 35, of 1901 Baker Ave., Utica, was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (sub 1)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree  (sub 12)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th  degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 1)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 2)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 3)

Jasmine R. Richard, 33, of 1901 Baker Ave., Utica, was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (sub 1)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree  (sub 12)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th  degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 1)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 2)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 3)

Alyssa D. Young, 32, of 1901 Baker Ave., Utica, was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (sub 1)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree  (sub 12)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th  degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 1)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 2)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (sub 3)
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

The investigation continues.

Driver in critical condition following early morning crash in Spafford

State police in Elbridge are investigating a crash that occurred on East Lake Road in Spafford.

Investigation revealed a dump truck operated by Howard Beltran, 57, of New York City, was northbound on East Lake Road (State Route 41) when he lost control, exited the east side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Beltran was extricated by Spafford Fire Department and air-lifted to SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he was listed in critical condition.

The investigation continues.
