The town of Lebanon is seeking two residents to serve as a member of the planning board and an alternate member of the planning board.

The Planning Board meets every third Monday around 7 p.m. at the Town Office, and the alternate is asked to serve when one of the five regular members is unable to attend. The chair of the planning board usually contacts the alternate when needed.

The planning board issues special use permits, change of use permits, handles subdivisions and splits and monitors the influx of used mobile homes into the township.

The term is five years.

This is a great way to become familiar the process of serving in town government. Most alternates go on to be planning board members.

If you know of someone in the community who is a town resident who might be interested, let them know, as well.

Those interested should contact Supervisor Jim Goldstein at lebanon@citlink.net.
