‘Harriet Tubman: Relaxing in Peterboro’

Kate Clifford Larson, Ph.D., will present “Harriet Tubman: Relaxing in Peterboro” at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019. The event is part of the 10th annual Peterboro Emancipation Days to be held at the Gerrit Smith Estate National Historic Landmark, 5304 Oxbow Road, Peterboro.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.; donations for admission.

Schedule for Aug. 3:

  • 9:30 a.m.: Registration
  • 10 a.m.: Assembly, photo and processional to cemetery to lay wreaths
  • 1:15 p.m.: Harriet Powell: Escapee from Slavery on Underground Railroad
  • 2:15 p.m.: Harriet Russell: From Enslaved to Freedom in Peterboro
  • 3:15 p.m.: Harriet  Tubman: Relaxing in Peterboro

Upper Lisle  Cemetery, town of Triangle, Broome  County, State Route 26, Whitney Point

12:30 p.m. Laying of Gravestone for person born in slavery, died free.
