The Remsen Arts Center presents a concert by “Tuesday Night Big Band” at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at 9627 Main St., Remsen.

General admission $10, members $8, students $5.

The band is a jazz ensemble performing music from the early 20th Century “Big Band Era” plus more recent compositions. Most of the music played by the band was first popular in the 1930s and ‘40s by big bands, such as ones led by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and many others. The Tuesday Night Big Band enjoys keeping this music alive for audience enjoyment into the 21st century.

The Tuesday Night Big Band was formed in the summer of 1991. All experienced musicians, the 14 members reside in the Utica region. At this time, four players from 1991 still remain in the group, and many have been in the group for nearly 20 years.
