Cathleen “Cathy” (Smith) McCarthy of Williamstown, New York, passed away August 10, 2019, with her husband by her side.
Cathy was born in Morrisville, New York May 23, 1951, to Harold and Joyce Smith. She graduated from Morrisville-Eaton High School in 1969 and went on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Morrisville two years later.
Cathy loved nature, reading, drinking homemade iced tea on her deck and being a grandma.
Cathy was predeceased by her father, Harold Smith; her mother, Joyce Smith (2012) and a sister, Barbara Miller (2009).
Cathy is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kevin McCarthy; a daughter, Annie (Lance) Barnard; a granddaughter, Mia Barnard; two sisters, Carol Smith of Lexington Park, Md., and Jeanne (Brian) Thalacker of Monticello, Wis., along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Please join the family for a celebration of Cathy’s life from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 21, 2019, at the American Legion in Williamstown, New York.
