Forum on reparations H.R. 40 postponed

The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum has postponed the Forum on reparations: H.R. 40, which was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at the Hamilton College Chapel in Clinton; the rescheduled date has not been set.

A purpose of the forum program was to raise awareness of Congressional Bill H.R. 40: Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-American Act – an event to illuminate the purpose and possibilities of the legislation creating a commission to study reparation for slavery in the United States.

The Ongoing Abolition Committee of NAHOF invites the public to join us at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at 5255 Pleasant Valley Road, Peterboro, to discuss the future date and format of the Ongoing Abolition program. The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum is located in the Smithfield Community Center building where the inaugural meeting of the New York State Antislavery Society met in 1835.
