November is a month that we set aside for honoring our military and their families. At the Canastota Public Library this November, we are hosting the premier of “The Brave,” an anthology featuring poems and prose about our military and military life by former and current military members and their families.

On Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at 6 p.m., the community is invited to join us for special readings from the anthology.  Some of the contributing authors who have been included in the anthology will join us to read their works.

The book, which is published by Clare Songbirds Publishing House in Auburn, includes selections by local authors, including several who are members of the library’s afternoon writing group.

“The Brave” was edited by Rachael Ikins and Heidi Nightengale.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit Semper K9, a non-profit organization that provides free, custom-trained service animals to wounded veterans. The book will be sold at the event or you may preorder the publication at claresongbirdspub.com; the cost is $15.99.
