Library Closures: We are closed Wednesday Jan. 1, 2020 to observe New Year’s Day and Monday Jan. 20, 2020 to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Canned Food Drive: We will be having our annual Canned Food Drive to benefit the Morrisville Food Pantry Jan. 2-Feb. 29. Please help us make it better than last year. Help us to benefit to our food pantry. We can only take any non-perishable, UNEXPIRED canned food item. We will ALSO collect hygiene products like soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes etc. for the Pantry as well.

Library Luau Party: Celebrate your last day off from school with a LUAU on Friday Jan. 3 at 2:00pm. Come and party up with us in the cold of winter before school starts again. Games, food and more.

Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in on Tuesday Jan. 7 at 10:00am for our preschool story hour. We are having fun with the topic, “Mittens.” Stories, finger plays, a craft and more.

Teen/Adult Movie Night: Come join us for a movie, rated PG-13 on Friday Jan. 10 at 7:00pm. We provide the popcorn; bring your own beverage. Due to licensing regulations, we cannot post titles, but check out our website for the complete list this summer. (https://morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/events/movie-nights-the-library/) This movie is PG-13 so children will not be allowed to enter without a parent/guardian if under the mandatory age.

Learn to Crochet: Always wanted to learn how to make those cute afghans? Need a refresher? Come join Tanya DeCock as she teaches us how to crochet on Monday Jan. 13 at 6:30pm. All participants MUST bring a skein of yarn and a G or H crochet hook. We will start by learning a scarf and go from there.

Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in on Tuesday Jan. 14 at 10:00am for our preschool story hour. We are having fun with the topic, “Let’s Be Silly.” Stories, finger plays, a craft and more.

Library Board Trustees meeting: On Thursday Jan. 16 at 6:30pm, the Library Board of Trustees will meet in the library’s program room. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

NERF Battle Night: Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library on Friday Jan. 17 at 8:30pm. See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend’s foam dart. Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too. Everyone must bring a snack and a drink. We only have 14 spaces so sign up starting Jan. 2.

Snowmageddon for Homeschoolers.: Homeschoolers are welcome to join us on Tuesday Jan. 21 at 1:30pm. Come and learn how to make snow cream (ice cream with snow), origami snowflakes, icicles with chemistry, make a rice krispy treat snowman and more. Dress for going outside too as we will make snow creatures and paint them too. (And we heard there may be an indoor snowball fight..) Book Talk: Looking for a good book to read? How about joining our book talk on Wednesday Jan. 22 at 6:30pm, as we will be reading, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. Copies can be picked up now. Discussion open to teens and adults. So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion.
