On Dec. 5, 2019, the Department of the Army officials recognized the state police and Fort Drum with the 2019 Army Community Partnership Award during a ceremony at the Pentagon in Arlington, Vir.

The Community Partnership Award recognizes Fort Drum in Watertown and state police for their partnership, which focuses on enhancing soldier and family readiness and supporting emergency response.

Specifically, the partnership with the state police Special Operation Response Team, which provides the Army base with a dedicated response to critical incidents at Fort Drum that target the installation’s personnel or property.
