The Village of Canastota Democratic Party held a caucus to select candidates for the positions of mayor, trustee and trustee. Mark Nowakowski and Nick Ghezzi won the vote to become the Democratic candidates for the two trustee positions in the first round of voting; after a tie between Richard Bennett and Rosanne Warner in the first round of voting to become the Democratic candidate for the position of mayor, Bennett won by one vote in the second round of voting. Bennett, Ghezzi and Nowakowski will all appear on the Democratic line in the village election to be held March 18.
