Lenox man charged with endangering the welfare of three children

On Feb. 22, 2020, at 6:14 p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 9038 Briggs Bay Road in Lenox for a 911 open line where the 911 dispatchers could hear a female screaming. While deputies were responding, the female advised the dispatchers she was bleeding.

When the deputies arrived at the residence, they located a male standing near the road and the female inside the residence. The female was bleeding from her nose and her mouth.

Police say investigation revealed that Clarence W. Allen, Jr., 52, of 9038 Briggs Bay Road, grabbed the female’s face and ripped her nose ring out of her nose. He allegedly slapped her face, pushed her down stairs and held a shovel to her in a threatening manner.

Allen reportedly did this in the presence of the female’s two 10-month-old children and one 2-year-old child.

Allen was charged with second-degree menacing and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child (all class A misdemeanors) and second-degree harassment (a violation).

Allen was arraigned in Lenox Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

Canastota woman arrested following domestic dispute

On Feb. 24, 2020, Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 3240 State Route 5 in Lenox for a trespass in progress. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a domestic dispute had occurred.

Deputies charged Allison R. Collins, 22, of Canastota, with criminal obstruction of breathing (a class A misdemeanor) and second-degree harassment (a violation).

Collins was arraigned in Lenox Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
