Signore is January Red Cross Volunteer of the Month

(Oneida, NY – Feb. 2011) January’s Volunteer of the Month is Oneida resident, Marsha Signore. She is a very active CPR and first aid volunteer.

Marsha has volunteered for the Chapter since she first became an instructor in 2001. The majority of her volunteer hours have been donated to teaching adult, infant and child CPR and first aid to area day care providers. Area day care centers and individuals learn to handle medical emergencies, when they arise, in our youngest population.

Marsha also volunteers her time to instruct community classes held regularly at the Chapter office.

American Red Cross instructors are an elite group of professionals who teach valuable lifesaving skills to 12 million people each year. Being a Red Cross instructor is a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

To teach, an individual must be at least 17 years of age. To learn more about becoming an instructor, or contact the Madison-Oneida Red Cross to begin the process.

This year, the Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross is again partnering with Dunkin Donuts to show appreciation for the tireless efforts of its local volunteers with the 2011 Volunteer of the Month Awards. The American Red Cross is an organization comprised of volunteers, who do the majority of the organization’s work, dedicating their time to help others.

As a good neighbor in our communities, Dunkin Donuts has provided a gift card to present to the Red Cross Volunteer of the Month.
