Earlville Residents Graduate, Earn Honors

Colgate Honors First-Year Students

The following students from the Colgate University Class of 2013 have been inducted into the Colgate chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national scholastic honorary society that recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of first-year students.

Among them was sophomore Alexandra Anne Caudill, daughter of Mr. Jubel Caudill of Earlville.

The approximately 150 students who received the prestigious distinction for having earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the 2009-2010 academic year were honored at a fall banquet.

Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois. The Colgate chapter received its charter in 1982.

Record Named to SUNY Oneonta Dean’s List

Megan Record of Earlville was among 1,507 students from SUNY Oneonta who earned dean’s list honors for the fall 2010 semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 semester hours or more.

Area Students Graduate from Morrisville State

The following Earlville-area residents were among students to graduate from Morrisville State College in December:

Justin Larmon received a degree in business administration, Breann Schwarting received a degree in equine science and management, Arlene Symonds received a degree in human services and April Worlock received an associate of applied science in nursing.

Earlville Residents Named to Morrisville State Dean’s List

Morrisville State College recently announced those students who were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester. Included among them were Earlville residents Jami Hilts, Neisa Pantalia, Grace Davies, Sergei Domashenko and Tyler Morgan.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Misch Named to Morrisville State President’s List

Morrisville State College recently announced those students who were named to the president’s list for the fall 2010 semester. Among them was Earlville resident Renee Misch.

To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Coye Named to SUNY Oswego Honor Rolls

Several area residents have been named to the president’s and dean’s lists for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego. Among them, showing academic achievement, with their major and honor in parentheses, was Trevor S. Coye of South Lebanon Road, a junior (economics, president’s list).

The president’s and dean’s lists represent the academic top 25.9 percent of the Oswego student body. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the President’s List, the top 6.3 percent of Oswego students. To be included on the Deans’ List, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.

MVCC graduates more than 220 at December Commencement

More than 220 students earned an associate degree or certificate at the completion of the fall semester at Mohawk Valley Community College; among them was Jesse. M. Magrath of Earlville, who earned an associate of applied science in surveying technology.

The December Commencement Ceremony was held Thursday, Dec. 16. The graduates will transfer to other colleges and universities across New York and the country; seek employment in a career related to their studies; or pursue other career and life objectives.
