Miller Earns Weekly Award; Tournament Times Announced

(Center Valley, Pa. – April 25, 2011) Courtney Miller tallied three goals and helped the Colgate women’s lacrosse team to the top seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament and for her efforts she was named midfielder of the week.

Miller scored three goals and had two assists to lead Colgate to a
20-7 win over Bucknell, clinching the No. 1 seed for the Raiders.
Miller also had five ground balls, seven draw controls and a caused
turnover.

The junior has been named midfielder of the week twice this season and
is second on the team in total points with 61. She has a career-high
30 assists, which is the most on the team and second in the league.
Miller is averaging over 2.2 goals per game and 4.36 points per game
and she is one draw control away from breaking her own single season
record in Colgate history. She has 51 this season and 16 in the last
three games.

She recorded her 150th career point with a goal in the first half and
has two or more points in all 14 games and scored multiple goals in 10
of the 14 games. Miller has tallied five points in six games and has
25 goals and 12 caused turnovers.

The Raiders are set to host the 2011 Patriot League Tournament, which
begins on Thursday afternoon. Top-seeded Colgate will take on
fourth-seeded American at 4 p.m., while a rematch of last year’s final
will take place at 7 p.m. with second-seeded Lehigh playing
third-seeded Navy. The championship game will be held at 3 p.m. on
Saturday and can been seen live on CBS Sports Network.

There is free admission to all games. The first 25 fans to come
through the gate for Thursday’s two semifinal matchups will get a
coupon for a free sandwich from Holy Smokes, while the first 50 will
get one prior to the championship game.
