(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2012) Hamilton Public Library will host a family board game night Thursday, Feb. 23. This event will take place in the library’s Community Room from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring your favorite board game and challenge friends to a game or two. Light refreshments will be available.

Free tax assistance is available at the library for low-income families and people at least 60 years old. Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling VITA at (315) 697-3588 or RSVP tax consultant Sam Stradling, at (315) 824-3361.

As a reminder, if you have placed items on reserve, be sure to check your emails, phone messages or your online library account to check the status of your requests. Once the library contacts you by your preferred method, the item is only held for one week. If you are not able to pick up the item during this time period, you may avoid the disappointment of not finding your book here by just notifying the library.

If you know that you will be out of town between certain dates, you may suspend your request for that time period. You may do it yourself online or library staff will be happy to do it for you.

The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 20, in observance of Presidents Day.

Barb Coger is director of the Hamilton Public Library.
