(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2012) Join your young friends and neighbors at Hamilton Public Library’s Family Board Game Night Thursday Feb. 23 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Bring your favorite game or play one of ours. New this year will be Buzz Word for the older crowd.

We are pleased to announce that the library and the Colgate Bookstore will once again be cosponsoring the Chenango Valley Scribes Writing and Illustrating Contest. This contest is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Entries may be submitted to the Colgate Bookstore or the library between March 1 and April 6. Entry forms and guidelines are available at the Colgate Bookstore and the library.

The library is also looking forward to our annual April Community Art Show. Art work may be dropped off at the library during regular hours between Monday March 26 and Saturday March 31. If these dates are not convenient for you, please make arrangements to have them delivered earlier.

Entry forms for the Community Art Show are available at the circulation desk. Participants are also invited to submit a one page statement for our informal Exhibition Catalog.

This art show is a wonderful opportunity to share your talent with your library community. We welcome artists for whom this may be a first time as well as all those who have participated in the past. There will be a reception in honor of the artists on Tuesday April 3 starting at 4:15 pm.

Barb Coger is the library director. The library is open Monday-Friday, 10 am – 7 pm, and Saturday, 10 am – 1 pm. Please call the library, (315) 824-3060, during these hours for assistance. The book drop on Broad Street is always open for your convenience. Check the library’s Facebook page for up-to-date information about programs and special events.
