Canastota Public Library news
By Elizabeth Totten
(Canastota, NY – Feb. 2012) The Swamp Snappers exhibited their beautiful nature photographs at the Canastota Public Library and are now saying thanks in a very kind way. This camera club has elected to donate a year’s subscription of “Outdoor Photographer” to the library.
Beginning in March, the magazine will be available to be borrowed by patrons. As with all library magazines, “Outdoor Photographer” can be borrowed for a one week period.
The Swamp Snappers are a group of photography buffs that meet regularly to share their enthusiasm for outdoor photography. The Swamp Snappers meet on the first Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Great Swamp Conservancy and they are welcoming new members to join them. There are workshops, speakers, field trips and experienced photographers mentoring beginners. You may use a digital single lens reflex camera or point/shoot camera, it makes no difference. The common denominator is a love of nature and a desire to improve one’s photography skills.
The Canastota Public Library holds over 150 subscriptions of magazines, which are available for borrowing. The Canastota Public Library would like to publicly thank the Swamp Snappers for their gift subscription, which will benefit the community. Check it out today.
