(Morrisville, NY – March 2012) The Morrisville State College Theatre Department and Student Government Organization (SGO) will present the musical, Cole, in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC) on the Morrisville State College campus.
Show times are: March 16, 17 and 22 to 24 at 8 p.m. A matinee performance will be held March 18 at 2 p.m.
Created by Alan Strachan and Benny Green, and produced in cooperation with Samuel French Inc., in New York, Cole is musical memoir based on the words and music of American composer and songwriter Cole Porter.
Throughout the show, audiences will be entertained with a clever arrangement of dance, songs and narratives which tell the story of Porter’s life, from his early childhood and years at Yale University, to his journey from New York to Paris, and his triumphant return to Broadway.
Porter’s musicals include: Kiss Me, Kate; Fifty Million Frenchmen; DuBarry Was a Lady; Anything Goes; and Can-Can. His numerous hit songs include: “Night and Day,” “I Get a Kick out of You;” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “Be a Clown.”
