(Canastota, NY – April 2012) The Canastota Area Association of Churches invites the public to its annual ecumenical Holy Week observances. Some member congregations will hold other special services throughout the week, culminating in all churches celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ on Easter morning with their own worship services.
On Palm Sunday, April 1, a service will be held at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 304 South Peterboro St. In addition to Scripture readings, this service will feature special music by The Master’s Touch Chorale, a choir of nearly 40 dedicated Christian singers from over a dozen denominations. The singers come from many communities, professions, and walks of life, united by their common faith in Jesus Christ and by His calling to spread His Good News in the ministry of music.
On Good Friday April 6, a service will be held at 7 p.m. at the New Beginnings Community Church, 227 Genesee St. (Route 5) in Wampsville.
On Easter Sunday, April 8, a sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 3640 Seneca Turnpike (Route 5) in Canastota. Please contact Rev. Tom Burgess, pastor of Hope Christian Fellowship and president of the Canastota Area Association of Churches, for more information; phone 1-800-294-9131 or email email@example.com.
