Two day event coming to Bouckville in July

(Bouckville, Syracuse, NY – March 2012) At a morning press conference held March 29, Tom Tarry, CEO/President of Syracuse-based event marketing firm TRG, announced the creation of NY Country Jam, a multi-day, multi-artist Country Music Festival coming this summer to Central New York.

On July 13 and 14 on the site of the Madison Bouckville Antique Festival on Route 20 in Bouckville, NY Country Jam will debut with eight National Recording artists.

Country Music sensation Gretchen Wilson will headline the Friday night portion of NY Country Jam.  Known for her sizzling lyrics and delivery, country music fans will get to see Wilson sing all of her hits including “Redneck Woman” and “Here for the Party.”

Opening for Wilson is 2012 Academy of Country Music Duo of the Year nominee Steele Magnolia.  The winners of CMT’s “Can You Duet” made headlines when their bracing take of “Keep on Lovin You” broke through as the highest charting debut single by a duo in Billboard history and climbed all the way to No. 5 on the Billboard Country Charts.  They have toured with Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire.

Taking the stage before Steele Magnolia is newcomer Lyndsey Highlander.  In 2012 she has opened 4 sold out Travis Tritt concerts and will tour this summer with Reba McEntire and Little Texas.

On Saturday night NY Country Jam welcomes Country Music superstars Big & Rich with special guests Cowboy Troy and Bradley Gaskin.  Known for such monster hits as “Save a Horse” and “Comin’ to your City” Big & Rich have made a lot of noise in country music by incorporating rock and rap into their albums.

Before Big & Rich take the stage Country Music fans can give a tip of their hats to multiple hit producing country music star Tracy Lawrence. Over a two decade career Lawrence has been a hit producing machine and his collaboration with longtime friends Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard country chart and was later named the Academy of Country Music vocal event of the year.

Opening for Lawrence is Country Music mainstay Darryl Worley. Worley is known for his three No. 1 singles “I Miss My Friend,”  “Awful, Beautiful Life,” and “Have You Forgotten?”  Worley has been nominated for five major ACM and CMA awards and continues to perform around the country as well as write new material.

Before Worley takes the stage NY Country Jam fans can hear 2012 Academy of Country Music Songwriter of the Year nominee David Lee Murphy. Murphy has written or co-written 13 charting country singles including the #1 hit “Dust on the Bottle.”  He also co-wrote “Living In Fast Forward” by Kenny Chesney, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” by Thompson Square, “”Always the Love Songs” by Eli Young Band, “The More I Drink” by Blake Shelton, “Big Green Tractor” by Jason Aldean, “A Feeling Like That” by Gary Allan and “Goes Down Easy” by Van Zant.

American Idol fans remember Bo Bice wowing the judges with his rendition of “Whipping Post” when he reached the show’s final rounds.  Finally healed after suffering from intestinal issues Bice is releasing new material and returning to the road this summer.

Local Country Music bands have a chance to join this lineup by visiting and registering to “play your way in” during the “Nothin’ Fancy 20th Anniversary Celebration on June 2 in Vernon. Nothin’ Fancy is Central New York’s largest live Country Music venue.  We will select bands to play our event in a contest being held at that event.

Tickets to NY Country Jam will go on sale Thursday, April 5. Campsites can be purchased on the website as well. Visit the website for more information.
