(Town of Sullivan, NY – April 2012) The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum will host the Greater Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly meeting April 5 at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to meet the canal museum’s new executive director, Christine O’Neill.
O’Neill will share her vision and plans for the canal museum’s future development, which will include her vision to attract visitors and tourists to the canal museum. Canal museum volunteers will be on hand to conduct tours of the site.
The CLCBM is located along the historic Erie Canal on Lakeport Road in Chittenango.
Jim Walter from Madison County Tourism will also discuss how increased tourism will impact our community, especially local businesses. Chamber President Bill Baldwin says the Chamber would like to assist businesses in showcasing their products and services.
Baldwin said the Chamber selected the evening timeframe for the meeting to allow the public and business owners the opportunity to attend this informational meeting. The intent of these informational Chamber meetings is to allow the community and businesses alike to network and stay abreast of community initiatives and events.
The Ten Pin Restaurant will serve light hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. Chamber members are encouraged to display marketing materials at the meeting.
