Alpacas and Llamas and Silkworms, oh My!

(Bouckville, NY – June 9 and 10, 2012) The Central New York Fiber Artists and Producers Fiber Festival will be held June 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bouckville. The Butternut Campground site will be well-marked, featuring five large tents filled with 90 booths of fiber vendors, food, farm products, spinners, knitters, demonstrators, exhibits, children’s activities and animals, including goats, rabbits, sheep, alpacas and llamas.

There will be a sheep-to-shawl demonstration, historical looms, wet felting, spinning, an antique sock machine and more – all demonstrated free of charge for the price of admission.  A ‘knitting doctor’ will be available to help with that project or pattern that just won’t cooperate. Sheep will be sheared both days.

Admission is $5 for adults, and children under 12 are admitted free of charge.  Find more information, visit cnyfiber.org.
