Small Business Resource Center Offers References for Entrepreneurs

(Hamilton, NY – June 2012) The Hamilton Small Business Resource Center, a project of the Partnership for Community Development, is proud to announce the availability of a new, cutting-edge, completely free resource for all established and prospective small business owners in Hamilton.

EBSCO’s Small Business Reference Center (ebscohost.com/corporate-research/small-business-reference-center) is now available, free of charge, to members of the business community on a desktop computer terminal located at the PCD office at 11 Payne St., Hamilton. Those wishing to access the database may do so Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or by appointment.

EBSCO’s Small Business Reference Center offers a vast quantity of materials and information on small business and entrepreneurial topics, including industry-specific data, sample business plans, marketing guides, a help and advice section, hundreds of videos (including videos from the Harvard Business School’s faculty seminar series, interviews, how-to guides, lectures, and “lessons learned” features), business start-up kits, legal guides, demographic and market research tools and more.

The database includes about 400 full-text periodicals and more than 450 full-text books.

A complete list of titles available in the database can be found by visiting ebscohost.com/titleLists/b9h-coverage.htm.

“The SBRC has three primary elements, all of which are entirely free to our local business community,” said PCD Managing Director Shannon Mantaro. “The first is our quarterly seminar with small business experts; the second is facilitating one-on-one counseling between business owners and outside mentors and specialists. The third component of the SBRC is the creation of a free library of resource materials for research and for real-world use. I would like to thank our partners who helped bring this project to fruition and encourage our business owners to take advantage of this important resource.”
